I saw spaced out tonight and I have one word for you, “wow”.
Not a good “wow” but a “wow, was that it?”. That was the shortest movie I have ever seen. Granted the riding was rad in some parts, a third of it was riding offroad. Not MUni offroad - riding offroad. I’m not trying to knock the movie though, I enjoyed it. But, next time I wanna see MORE!
I don’t know, maybe it’s just me.
Yeah, i’ve seen it. I was a little dissapointed. The offroad stuff was starting to get a little annoying. And I agree, it was short.
I agree with you guys all the way. Make it longer next time!
You guys are just jealous. I bet you guys cant even go backwards!!! You really suck!

You got me…
I almost believed your rants for a sencond
it was mostly pogo sticking on auni, i like the muni sections but it was pretty short on that.
good vid and certainly better than i could make but all that hopping got old…i gave it away with the KH fame i sold.
Yeah, kinda reminded me of “Rough Terrain Unicycling” with the bounce bounce bounce, but minus the serious skill of George Peck. The next step in your evolution is to gain control over the hopping. As KH recommends, treat hops as adjustments between still stands, not as pogo opportunities.
But fact is, the music ruled… I’ll sleep in my garden tonight dreaming of the Belugas. Great thinking there.
why cant we all be one big happy…lol hahahahahaaha oh man I crack myself up
totaly…
ironic.
Woo Yay to that brotha!
honestly, the first time i saw it i just thought that it was okay. but on repeated viewings i came to really appreciate everything that was going on. some things go unnappreciated on first viewing, like ryan scaling a rock face, jeff’s backwards bc, and james’ complete control on some really really steep descents. watch it a few more times before passing judgment.
i thought it was WWWWWWWAAAYYYY better than u2.
team Hazard?
Arent you the guys that were causing a ruckus before spaced out was comming out? i do remember posts with people loggin in as a fake jeff Groves and fake Ryan Atkins… was teamHazard involved in this boycott and smear campaign from a few months ago?
Umm… no.
Actually, according to one of his earlier posts, “Keaton” can glide backwards. Please try to be a little more polite on this forum freestyleboy. Making offensive personal comments at people you don’t even know is totally unacceptable.
I liked Spaced Out alot. So much that I bought three copies but that is another chaotic story. It was different than Universe2. Perhaps that was intentional. U2 had lots of street style riding whereas Spaced Out featured Kevin McMullen as about the only street rider. I would like to have seen more of Steve Weber who I think is an outstanding rider and does some cool street moves. Spaced out was heavy on trials and light on MUni but, if you’re featuring a trials rider like Ryan Atkins I would say go for it.
It also featured lots of East Coast riders that you see little of in U2 because of proximity. It was cool to see Ben Plotkin-Swing and Joey Cohn, both fantastic riders, featured independently as well as Carl Hoyer.
It also featured girls. This was a good feature and one I would hope to see more of and expose more girls to the extreme parts of the sport. Although Sarah said she was reluctant to perform for the video, I’m glad she was there. This is a big step forward. Seeing Emily (?) on the impossible wheel was also cool. There you have a very young girl featured showing that some of this stuff doesn’t have to be a macho, teenager driven sport. Now he just needs some geezer footage.
Spaced out was much less extreme that U2 but the music was more diverse and appealing to me. Also consider that this was Jeff Groves’ first professional DVD compilation.
Greg
That is Emily McCormick in Spaced Out. She is about 9 years old and one sweet girl.
She was at the Toque Games last year and will be there again this year. I’m sure she will be at NAUCC '05 in Ohio with her brother who rides as well this coming July.
Sara will help her become a unicycle super star.
I just put another 50 copies of Spaced Out on the shelf in my shop. Most people find it amazing.
Universe 2 and Spaced out are different in many ways. I highly recommend both DVD’s.
