There are a few Saffers here, a couple down in Cape Town, and a few up in Jozie. If you’re up North get hold of GILD and join up with them for a Uni-hockey session. If you’re down my way give me a shout and we’ll go for a ride in the great outdoors

I’m actually in Pretoria. I was in Cape town over chrismas and I tried very hard to get my mom to let me ride out Table mountain but I did not succeed. So you can guess my age (16). So I had to hike it out instead. That profile picture of yours is on table mounain? The guys in jo’burg you spoke about is that Alan Read’s hokey club? I got my Muni from them.

Yeah Alan is the guy is JHB who supplies the Uni’s. I bought my MUni from him as well
My profile pic was taken on the side of Table Mountain on the contour path running from the Cable-Way to the Block-House high above UCT. Was around 8 in the morning.
If you’re down in CT on holiday again, give me a shout. There are quite a few rad routes around Table Mountain and Silvermine to ride. There is a group of us that ride usually every Saturday.

I guess you mean unicycle-hockey. Yes there is quite some guys down here that do that but I don’t.

You should reeeaaalllyyy give UniHoki a go.
It is an incredible amount of fun and will improve your general riding absolutely no end.
Trials or Muni, long distance or street, your riding will improve thanx to UniHoki.
I know the Joyburg crowd have been talking about getting around to Thrashers skate park in Pretoria where they have an inline rink to play a game there.
Get hold of Alan and ask him what happened about that.
Oh I didn’t think of that… I would like to play uni-hockey.
But I really did mean underwater hockey. I hear they’re having the world championships there this year. It’s an obscure sport.

I’m a bit afraid of unihockey. A guy puts his stick in your wheel and he gets a red card and you a broken nose:) . I also am low on the ball sense.
As for underwater hockey I have never heard of it.

Most of the time you play against your mates, stick-in-wheel is a very rare occurence and pretty difficult to happen unless you really try.
I’m known for nagging people till they try and then having another convert-for-life.
Make it easier on yourself, give in now.

Looks great! When will you be playing there again? I live about 6km from there.
They set up a temp rink in the Arena, I don’t think the in-line hockey guys are even going at all anymore so I can’t see that happening again.
Thrashers Skate Park is right around the corner from Menlyn and they have a rink there as well.
Get hold of Alan and ask him when they’re playing there.
We’ve been talking about it for a long time now, it’s about time they got themselves together and got out there.
