sopranos

did anyone else feel like the producers owe us 8 years of our lives back after that series finale?

I better edit this before someone posts stilly things…this thread is directed at people who have watched it season after season

Not me.

KILL YOUR TELEVISION

I stopped watching it during season one. Did I miss something? It didn’t take me long to figure out I didn’t like Tony Soprano and so I didn’t care if things went well for him. He’s a lousy role model, husband and parent.

sorry, wont pay for cable…i currently enjoy over 25 HD channels coming free over the air.

Isn’t that supposed to be part of his charm?

It’s ok, he’s actually an actor, he’s not a real person.

It is a series about the mafia, I doubt they’re going to try and base it around a good role model. There is also excessive swearing and a bit of nudity in the original HBO verion too.

I enjoy watching it, partially because the whole mafia thing is quite fascinating to me, but mostly because Tony Soprano’s house is filmed on the same street that my biggest mentor grew up. his name is Tony as well, and 100% Italian.

They can’t; that would be more or less impossible. But that’s why I lost interest. Usually in fictional stories you are offered one or more characters to attach yourself to, people who you will root for. I can’t root for Tony Soprano. I can feel bad for his family, but they have varying levels of choice as well.

There have been great movies about mafia people or other criminals, sometimes where they “get away with it” and sometimes where they don’t But usually the “heroes” of these stories have some sort of moral high ground. Maybe they steal but they don’t murder. Stuff like that. The Sopranos didn’t have that kind of charm.
