Somebody's Library Dream Job?

Posted November 6, 2009: University of California, Santa Cruz: Grateful Dead Archivist

I know I saw that.

6 Months or so there was a posting for a sound librarian at LucasFilm. The first qualification was Extensive knowledge of the Star Wars Universe."

Isn’t this the state that is having extreme financial problems?

It is. And in fact, the very same institution recently informed my brother, an adjunct professor of American history making significantly less than that advertised position pays, that it is highly unlikely he will be employed after this academic year.

Unfortunately he has been heard publicly referring to Deadheads collectively as the world’s most loyal positive cash flow.

I work at the same library but haven’t been able to get a peek of the archives yet. :frowning:

They’re kept behind the wall of sound.

“Yoo-PEE-dee!” (Unicyclists version. Original version more like “Woo-TEE-nee!”)

Sound effects from the first Star Wars movie (1977) were re-used in all the other films. Even when they were sounds made by natives of one planet, when none of them were present on the other planet…

The state whose financial problems are being solved by legal medical marijuana, #1 cash crop in the state.

the state whose governor killed a bill that would let people know what was in their food, the governor who favors corporate greed of Monsanto over the citizen’s safety.

So, the day after this crop is legalized Monsanto can swoop in with their genetically modified and patented seeds and lock up the market? The state can tax the crop and the sale of the seeds. Monsanto will also make a great deal of money on the export of those seeds.

The six fingered man will be able to disappear into a state that will be full of six fingered people.

And Inigo Montoya will go ape shit.

You bet-a your ass I will!

I may even fight-a them all right-handed.

It made it on the daily show
