Some thoughts on possible UNICON VIII locations

While in Norway, I thought Norway might be a great place for a UNICON. How about
downhill unicycle jumps? Do everything normally done on skis and skates with
unicycles! The Lillehammer Unicycling Competitions and Konvention (LUCK)?

Seriously, we could hold a UNICON in an area without organized unicycling.
Recall the 1983 NUM was held in Syracuse, NY without local unicycling club
support and was a big success, due to the organizational abilities of Paul Fox,
Floyd Crandall, Jean Paul Jenack, Meryl Shaefer, and others. Also, UNICON I,
again held in Syracuse, NY without local unicycling club support was a success,
despite its director’s inadequate efforts and the Abrahams family’s “We will
sacrifice our vacation to make this convention a success” attitude and
commitment. [Note: The author was the UNICON I director.]

Of course it would be best if we had the local unicycling club’s support! That
is, hold the UNICON in an area where the local unicycling club(s) could do at
least the facilities arrangements.
