Thanks for posting the Motorama pics. It was fun to see my KH seat brackets included in the collection. These brackets took out most if not all of the flex in the saddle. It made a BIG difference. Well worth my time to make them.

One note for anyone trying to make this bracket. I made the brackets (one bracket for each side) from a piece of 1/16 inch thick aluminum angle. After a few days of use, the front portion of the bracket is starting to bend a slight amount. This is the portion that has the angle portion removed to allow clearance for the wrench to tighten the nut. I don’t know if it will bend further, but if I was doing another bracket, I would use a slightly thicker aluminum.

That’s pretty cool, Bill. How did you get the bolts into place that attach to the seat? Did you disassemble the seat?

Uturn

I just used the existing nuts and bolts (4 total) that hold the handle onto the seat. I made the bracket to drop down onto the bolts in the seat and reinstalled the nuts. Then I drilled the hole for the bolt through the brake post (or whatever it’s called).

I’m kinda surprised with all the people who have posted about the seat flexing that more people haven’t done something like this bracket. Kris H told me at Motorama that he’s only seen a couple set ups similar to mine.

Glad to be able to make a small equipment mod contribution to the sport. So simple but really effective. I like stuff like that!

I was bummed you didn’t make it to Motorama. Hopefully I’ll see you soon at another event.

Bill

Glad I wasn’t there, I would have spent all weekend trying to clean the triangle. :frowning:

For all you real trials guys, I know you had a great time.

Bill, very nice little brackets. Once I can hop over 2", I might need to brace my seat.
Thanks for the pics muniracer. --chirokid–
