Snowdon Rematch!

I believe we now have the following interested in doing Snowdon again in November:

Aaron & myself (Simon) & possibly Daniel
Steve © & possibly Stu(bald) from duc [I am sure he is up for it but he hasnt been asked yet]
Roger
Rick Else
Mark Lever
Sam
Mark Wiggins
Nickjb

The only question is when in November [I cant do 2nd Novemnber] and when will the weather will be settled enough?

What about Joe & John?
Joe Marshall?
Rocket?
Steve Roberton & family?
Tim Broome?
Joe Rowing?
Keith?

Simon

Myself and gemma maybe up for it just depending on how much uni work we got.
just let us know when it is and if we not too busy we will be there.

Steve’s definitely interested. He’s just waiting to find out what date
is chosen. Not sure about the rest of the family - but it’s a safe bet
that Michael would be up for it.

possibly, although it’s a long way to go for a ride I’ve done a couple of times already. Also depends a bit on what other riding I end up doing.

Snowdon on a coker with a brake would be mad in dry weather and very very scary if misty or rainy and slippy at all!

Joe

how about it’s bmw 5 n’ a half we could make a (smaller) weekend over it and ride something else aswell
everyone seems 2 be enthusiastic though!!
maybe i’ll ride my own uni this time not that rubbish crabon thing

Thanks for the comments Mark. Wendy’s due 2nd Nov, so dependant on the curries we have the week beforere to try and speed things up, it’s going to be the middle of November before I can come and play.

Certainly sounds as though there’s plenty of interest.

Steve

I’m interested (and so is my son) though I can’t commit to any dates but I’d try and make whatever is decided. Hopefully I wouldn’t miss it this time.

Gary

BTW Steve what were the unicycle neclace things made from? I’ve worn out the black dye from wearing it everyday.

sob sniff

I’d love to… but it’s just too far away… :frowning:

mope wail

Phil

on a related but different subject… of the bunch who are going up/down snowdon and lives in the midlands area… and doesn’t mind being on TV. I have a contact who wants someone in the midlands. Please email me at roger@unicycle.uk.com

Thanks

Roger

Hi.

I (Joe B) will be there.

I dont know if I am going down with my dad (John - if i am, he will be riding too) or if I’m going down with Roger ( :astonished:

Either way, I should be there!

I heard the plan was for the 15th? Is that correct?

Cheers,

Joe,

Well, there is definitely two groups one who cant make dates in the second half of November and one who cannot make dates in the first half. You never know [I have just seen a squadron of pigs taking off] the weather might be kind for two trips.

What about two dates - Saturday 8th and 22nd as starting points so we have something to plan around but people will just have to be flexible. If about 5 days before the first date, the weather looks not good enough, it moves to the second week and so on.

I will start posting the forecast on this thread at the start of November - both from the Met and from local sources in Llanberis.

What do people think?

Simon

If we’re going to please everyone then I think it has to be two outings. I’m good for the 22nd Nov.

Steve

I have spoken to the owners of the Cafe at Half-way House and they will be open at the weekend in November providing the weather is good. Which is OK because I dont aim to be there unless the weather is good.

I have also spoken to the Pen-y-Pass wardens and they only reiterate my fear that November on Snowdon is notorious for freezing rain etc.

The weather on the top today is glorious - apart from the wind gusting to 50-60mph!

Simon

A new free specialised weather service for climbers and walkers was launched this month.

I can’t make the 22nd (I’ll be sitting in the sunshine by then :sunglasses: ). I have pencilled in the 8th as a friend of mine (non-unicyclist) is keen for a weekend away then, too. If there is a trip then great, if not I’ll probably take the mountain bike to Coed Y Brenin anyway.

Nick

the 8th , 22nd is a no go.
