smoking

i know smoking is definatly not a good thing, but i do it anyways. do you think that as a unicyclist i have an inherent responsibility to set a good example. i like to smoke when i ride, but i always feel guilty when i pass kids and am puffin’ out a cloud of smoke.

My opinion: smoking is stupid and sucks, just quit, it will be better for everything you do if you just stop.

I know stoping is hard but it can be done, i mean if you can unicycle, you can quit smoking =p plus you save your life and money, how can you beat that? =p

more life = more unicycling.

How can you possibly give up that :stuck_out_tongue: I don’t smoke cause not only cause i’m young but i don’t like the whole image it puts out and that if i did do it (not that im goin to) that people would think i am to look cool.

hmmm I’ve never seen anyone smoking while riding a uni come to think about it… thatd be pretty funny to see

you have no responsibility to set a good example. unicyclists are ridiculed, not idolized. smoke away.

nah thats a load of shit if you think that your setting a bad example and you want to stop then good, so if you think you want to then STOP

oh i forgot to mention you shoudlnt care if you smoke or not…

smoking is cool, havent you seen Defect?

I don’t think YOU have any responsibility to others. What you are doing is legal, if heavily inadvisable. Kids are more likely to succomb to peer pressure and the inability to think for themselves, than by thinking you look cool. No harm in feeling guilty though, shows you have some social conscience even if you don’t allow it free rein.

As regards smoking being dangerous: as long as you don’t blow the smoke into my face you not meet with a sudden, unexpected, and violent death.

i think smoking is bad and i would never do it but i think it is you chose and when you want to quit you will quit

i do smoke but i dont do it around any kids…some times ill have to go a whole day without a smoke if im doing a show… thats my thing…maybe that what you could do…if you’re comming up on some kids just kindof roll the smoke under your hand so they cant see it then when your a little further away you can smoke again

thank you boo. i never looked at it that way, but i see it now.

If you can stop for 72 hours you will rid your body of the nicotine addiction.

After that, you have to beat the habbit. That is the psychological addiction… OCD type of stuff.

Take a look at the link in my signature. It has lots of good info to help you quit.

I quit smoking 4 + years ago and I feel great.

Setting an example or not?, you make that call yourself! As for quitting, it is hard no doubt. But quitting at 20 yrs. old is much easier than later in life!

statistically speaking, every cigarette you smoke takes eleven minutes off of your life. think of that every time you are about to light up.
(:

Ah, the language of Samuel Clemens.

Just quit smoking.
I smoked when I was 13 (I know it’s young) but I stopped when I was 14 and I didn’t have problems and I saved allot of money.
With that money I bought my KH

In rough figures 20 a day
£5 per packet
£35 per week.
£1800 per year
Call it approximately £ 100,000 over your lifetime and forget the Aston Martin.

Aston Martin DB9
Price Range: £103,000 - £112,000
Body Styles: Convertible / Coupe

Of course you will have probably spent it all on Mars bars instead

Blech. Quit.
I did. Life is better now.

WHY?

That is the root of your problem. Is it the nicotine? Did you know nicotine is the most addictive substance you can buy without a perscription? A doctor told me that once. Nicotine owns you. Do you like being owned? I like making my own choices.

As a unicyclist, you have an inherent responsibility TO YOURSELF. Do the smart thing. There are 100 reasons to quit smoking as soon as you can. What were the reasons not to again?

Guilt can be a good thing.
