"Smart" Meters

We have a new, fangled smart meter and our PG&E bill went from about $175/month to $500/month. Both my kids moved out leaving just two people and the bill more than doubles??? Anyone else having issues with the new and improved meters?

Smart for PG&E I guess… :stuck_out_tongue:

I think we have a dumb meter. Different electric company, so our PG&E (gas only) is minimal during the summer.

You could buy a lot of unicycles for the difference in gas bills. Did they explain the difference in rates? My impression was that the cost would vary depending upon the time of day, with nighttime electricity being cheaper.

We still have a dumb meter. Last month the electric bill (separate from gas) was $43. (Air conditioning is a luxury.)

Well there’s your problem.

You have to de-fangle the meter before it works properly.

Possibly a baseball bat?

You’re in San Jose, show your team spirit! Use a hockey stick.

Lucky you. In Sacramento I guess we’d have to use a basketball, and not very well either! :o
