I got slashdotted once. I used to have videos I made from a camera mounted on my RC car. Someone posted the link on the front page of slashdot… the server hated it… 100GB of bandwidth in one day. I was fortunate my provider was cool and didn’t make me pay for the overage. Slashdot sometimes has some cool info, but for a smaller provider getting that kind of exposure, it can really screw things up short term.
