Skill Resources

Hi.

I’m in the process of setting up some small groups of resource people that I can contact with specific questions about skill development.

I have some resources already, but I need a few more people for each of these groups:

–Basic riding skills
–Ultimate wheel riders
–Giraffe riders
–Jugglers/riders
–People who teach riding (in a school setting, for example)
–Trials riders

I will need your real name and email address if you’d like to help out.

Please reply to me at: cettermclean at hotmail dot com.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

(Off Topic) - Please can anyone tell me want is ment by a ‘Front Spin’ and a ‘Backspin’. Or any type of ‘Spin’ come to think about it.

And advise would be great, Thanks,

Joe,

Carol,

I should be useful for all those topic areas, except maybe ultimate wheel. I’m still pretty bad at that.

For Joe, http://www.unicycling.org/iuf/rulebook/iufrules/7sslist.html It’s all there.

Carol,

This is probably off-topic for this thread but it reminded me anyway.
Long ago, probably more than a year, you undertook to collect games
that could be played on unicycles. Has that ever come to a landing?

Yes.

You’ll find about 20 games played on a unicycle listed here:

I hope to add more someday, too.

Have fun!

Great! Thanks. I’ll be in touch with everyone who responded.

No, I haven’t forgotten MUni, and maintenance is not a riding skill!

Speaking of maintenance, I must have hit the valve on my tire. It’s 100% flat. Couldn’t get it inflated again. Does that mean the valve is shot? Or that I’m too blonde for words?

Max? Help?

Sometimes just the valve hardware is leaking. If you have a valve wrench (looks like a little tube with a slot in it to unscrew the insides of the valve), take out the valve, put saliva all over it, and screw it back in. Sounds gross, but it’s what I’ve been told to do, and it works.

Cool list of unicycle games! I noticed Sumo was missing…

Thanks, John.

Er, ummm, spit on it? Do you often use this as a repair technique?

Sumo is missing, yes. You guys need no encouragement for that, but I plan to add it someday anyway.

I can help with basic riding skills, I’ve only been riding for about two months about I know how to teach the basics and then some.

Is there someone who can contribute to the all important topic of Support Crue Cooking Techniques: Baking a Killer Brownie? I recall someone in the TCUC being especially well versed in this regard- perhaps they will come forward?

Chris,

Perhaps they will.

I myself make a Killer Muffin. If you saw Gus Dingemans trying to choke one down at Mondo, you’ll know what I’m talking about. All he could do when he got half-way through it was stop and gasp “Got Milk?”

I didn’t actually intend to choke him, but he is, after all, a MUCH better rider than I am. So unfair. He’s older than I am, though, which explains it.

I’ll probably be a Level 7 too when I get to be his age.

I think I’ll make some muffins now. . . .Want one, Chris? Gus? Anyone? I’ll be happy to bring some to Regionals in beautiful Rochelle, Illinois, in April too.

Get milk.

Carol

P. S. It’s nearly 60 degrees in Minnesota, and the snow is melting faster than the Wicked Witch of the West. Let’s get out there and ride!
