im gonna get new wheels, does anyone know how hardness effects riding/performance?
EDIT: and bearings…anyone reccomend any?
harder wheels are for street, tech that kind of thing. Softer wheels for park and vert, where you need to stick to the ground and aren’t doing as many flip tricks. Its pretty easy to gouge softer wheels so they aren’t so good for street.
I would also say for bearings just get some cheap decent ones, most are made by the same company anyways. Just proper maintenance is best for them.
Can’t ride much with all the snow but I have:
Deck: just a blank
Trucks: Tensor
Wheels: Flip HDK
Bearings: Bones Swiss (way better then reds. they are more expensive but last way longer)
risers: Indepedent
hardware: I think shorty’s silverados. not sure
Here is a short video of some flip tricks i filmed in April of 06. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ctv-cQYGOZI
Best wheels I ever rode were cored wheels, they ride smooth and grind well. as for bearings I hear red bones or swiss bones rock.
i just broke my first board… im really mad/sad about it. i kickflipped it off of a 2 set and the tail broke, it had already cracked from a 5 stair, i had it for 4 months R.I.P. sdrcbd
flex deck glass granade 23" stock
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KfBDEwUshQ heres a vid of me kickflipping…and i just got these wheels in black, but they accidentally sent 8 so i got 4 free wheels
nice!
I recently got some of the new bones swiss labyrinths, and they are awesome.
and, because I found a bunch of old skate stuff in my closet, I just put together a pool/ cruiser deck.
specs - powell something deck.
fkd abec 7s.
spitfire 60mm
torch trucks
doh doh soft bushings
shorty hardware
1/8th risers.
for my street deck I’m going to go get some 53mm autobahns this week, and some medium doh dohs. should be sweetness.
anyone learn anything new recently? I learned feeble stalls and axle stalls to tail at a skatepark yesterday, but I sprained both my wrists too. No more unispins for a few days:(
Peice of crappy plywood with for wheels…needless to say, I never got into skateboarding that much.
i got a monkey deck silver trucks andy mac wheels and generic grip and bearings the graphic is so sick though it glow in the dark frank kosik bunnies
Here’s my wheels: (one of them does 0-22 mph in 2 seconds flat! ) The other is self-powered!
Old school for sure!
Ha I tried, but I could never even get it in the air plus I broke all of mine or built useless pieces of shit out of them. I do bmx a little nothing like tricks just like going down steps and riding at them really fast so you fly over um… I tried a 64 set and that just ended bad =p.
I havent skated for AGES… Silly me spent $200 on a deck just before i gave up - i have a good set-up that gets no use!
I have:
Deck: Lib Technologies (tougher portioned ply)
Trucks: Red Ventures with standard bushings
Wheels: i have 2 sets, one are soft Cozmos and the other are harder All City
Bearnigs: SKF Aggressive Green Abec 5’s
Risers: dunno (had a long time)
Hardware: dunno (had a long time)
Anyone wanna buy???
yeah dude. Skateboarding is probably more popular than unicycling.
If you’re that clueless about skateboarding, look around; but then again, you are 51
there are skate parks, pros, and countless video games.
Don’t worry, skating has definately caught on
