Six years!

Yo,

Justed wanted to mention today is my six years of unicycling. 3-5-07. Pretty insane how far the sport has come along since then. Looking back at it I don’t really remember what I did for my first four years unicycling, ha, but whatever (2 years ago, crankflip). It’s pretty nuts how much we’ve come along. Universe one was the hots back then. ha. Crazy. Just wanted everyone to really think what has happened over the last two years mainly, but many more years really.

I didn’t know you’ve been uni-ing for that long. I’m on 3 years and I aspire to be of your standard in 3 years time (1 more year to get crankflip down! haha)

And yea, looking back at when I first started, it’s amazing how many things that I can do today seem so impossible in the learning phases. I still have the receipt of my first uni in my wallet.

Man, that’s kinda freaking me out too. I’ve been unicycling for about 4yrs now. 5 come my b’day. :wink: I’ve learnt alot of unique tricks from my friends who have awesome unicycles. When you point out how much progress unicycling has made in the last 6 years , it’s incredible.

Bicycling hasn’t made a fraction of the progress.

Looks like it’s an inferiority complex that fuels the Bike Suprematist groups’ hatred of unicyclists.

Riding since…

There have been some lengthy gaps but I first took up unicycling in college 43 years ago. The oldest photo of me was taken at the National Sky Diving Championships in Marana, AZ in 1969. Note the French ParaBoots.

I’m afraid I’m grounded from riding for a while. I was pacesetting a ski race course in Vermont two weeks ago and crashed with the result of two broken ribs and pneumonia. Can’t wait to get healthy and get back cruising on my uni.

I’m wondering if we should try to get unicycling more public?
