<sings> We're [unicycling] in the rain...

I did it properly today, unicycling with an umbrella; it was chucking it
down when I got back from work, I was soaked already (it was nice weather
this morning…) so I thought I’d give it a try.

I got such a weird look from a woman going past… as if seeing someone on a
unicycle in the pouring rain is unusual! Tch, some people.

The result: this - http://www-student.cs.york.ac.uk/~pah117/video/

The one at the top, it’s about 2.3MB. With music…

Cool video, Phil. I couldn’t get the audio but I just imagined Gene Kelly singing unicycling in the rain. The cattle prod is in the umbrella handle I assume?

No audio? Hmmm. Actually the song is “they’re coming to take me away, haha,
they’re coming to take me away…”

I thought it was appropriate. The woman walking past while I was doing it
must have thought so…

The cattle prod is indeed in the umbrella; I charge it by unicycling with it
during thunderstorms on the top of the hill.

he he, ha ha, ho ho, to the happy home, where life is beautiful all the time, with trees and flowers and chirping birds…

OK, I know it. I’ve got the full picture, now. Excellent charging scheme for the old prod, too.

Hee hee! Good time.

i got audio from the R.C. carz.that was cool too.

Teehee… the one with the wheelspin to the music… took me ages…
controlling car with one hand, camera with the other and holding car back
for the wheelspin with a foot…

The one with the wee Lego man is excellent. That must have taken you hours! That’s one of the best stop-frame animations I’ve seen for a while.

Perhaps you should make a more uni related one, maybe Lego man on an impossible wheel? A uni or UW would be rather difficult as the poor guy has no knees:(

Have fun!

Glad you liked them! I brought loads of lego back with me after I last
went home, I’d been wanting to make some videos with them for a while. It
took a few hours, if I recall… it would have taken longer if I’d
actually taken time to make sure nothing was in the video that shouldn’t
have been, like various blobs of blu-tak and my arm on one frame while
holding the little man on a piece of string…

Hmmm… 'tis a possibility… stick a disc between his legs to look like
an impossible wheel… I shall look into it…

What is even more fun is to ride with an umbrella in the rail while it is windy. I cannot do a pirouette, but I had some entertaining attempts at some unintentional pirouettes while using the umbrella during a strong gusty wind. Wheeee. Just riding across the parking lot was very difficult.
