Since I'm giving up unicycling, I've turned to another hobby.

I know, It’s got an extra wheel, but at least it doesn’t wreck my knees.

Wow, that’s an oldie! What year is it? I have a 1985 750 virago in great conditon and only 11,000 original miles.

Wait a minute? quit unicycling??? IMOPSSIBLE!!!

There should be a law against completely quitting unicycling. Motrbiks are fun, but quitting something that you can be proud of? any fatty can ride a motorcycle, it takes skill, devotion, and talent, and anything else that will help my arguement to ride a unicycle. shame on you.

1976 Yamaha XS650
9,500 miles.

What’s the hobby?

What happened to your knees? You’re only seven, according to your avatar. You also indicate you live in or near what appears to be a university in a Harrisburg somewhere, so maybe you’re a child prodigy in college…

If your new hobby is to ride that thing on a road with cars, you have greatly increased your chances of severe in jury or death. Plus you’ve pretty much killed your exercise quotient. Are you learning to ride it standing up or something? Now that would be interesting!

I am interested in how your injuring your knees.

That’s why those in the medical fields call them Donor-Cycles. Lots of healthy, young, organs to share after the big crash.

The best advice I got when I got the D-C I rode through my college years: “It’s not if you go down, it’s when you go down”. If you lay it down get your leg out from the low side, try to stay on the cycle, and ride it out. I layed mine down at only 25mph when I hit some unexpected ice, only the bike ended up with any battle scars from that one.

well the vast majority of people getting hurt on mororbikes at least in the US is currently riders over 50. baby boomers reliving their youth is why accident rates are sky rocketing. sure young people buy bikes that are too fast for them, and they’re not so good at riding, but generally they’re more aware and have better relfexes.

Every year in our local parade the Indianapolis polcie squad come on there motorcycles. The main guy can stand up and ride his for quite a ways. A couple years ago when I was in band my stepdad was dropping me off at the highschool to get ready to march in it, and as we come around the corner there goes the police guy down a main street standing on his motorcycle, right down the center of the road and then he turned the corner all while standing up, it was pretty amazing.

Firstly, I forbid you to quit unicycling. Secondly, I forbid you to ride a motorbike. You do know you’re seven, right?

Congratulations on the new bike, looks really nice…great condition! Expect the worst and take Steve’s advice…although it’s yet to be proven on me I do believe it. I can’t recommend an advanced rider training program enough.

Me too.
