For the high end, 450 ish, I would recommend a KH from AEB. Koxx is also good, and many places carry these uni’s, but I think AEB’s KH deal is the best right now, at this price point. These unis are light and hand crafted strong.

For the middle range, the Nimbus from UDC is well made, strong, but a little heavier then the KH without the KH’s fancy hand made alum frame.

On the low but still good is the ax torker. Very light and cheap to buy with an excellent machine made alum frame, these are the lightest and still pretty strong. I have used my ax 29 for muni a few months now with no trouble. I weigh 180, but I don’t hop much or ride it off of drops bigger then curbs.
It has a square hub, but in a way that can be an advantage in a general use uni, as the cranks cost 1/5 as much $ as splined. You can have an ax 24 delivered to your door with free shipping for 180 $

This would be a great choice if you are short on cash and don’t plan to hop and drop a lot. For trials or serious hopping muni, you have to get a spined hub, like the Nimbus or KH.

To decide if you want to know if you should get a muni to ride trials with sometimes, or a trials for muni ? Maybe think about where you will ride. If it’s kinda flat and open, and you want to explore places, get a bigger wheel. But there’s nothing wrong with muni riding on a 20, it’s just a bit slower and less smooth over bigger stones. So you should have fun with either choice.

Later, if you really get into trials, you will want a trials uni. Most of the riders here own several uni’s.

problem is is that i live in Canada and hate to pay duty. so do you know any Canadian retailers?

If I were you and i had the money to get the new qu-ax i would get it is a strong uni and farely light. But if you dont have the money for that then you should get a kh or nimbus trials

go with the nimbus 24 with moments. i have the 26 and love it but i would go with the 24 for sooooo many reasons. unless you are going to do more cross country type stufff, then go for the 26 with moments.
