We’re still way fatter, so don’t start getting smug.

Be proud, and stand tall!
Off Topic Last year I went to Holland for my holidays, but this year, the sister chose France! Holland rocked! Its such a cool place to be, on holiday at least!
I know I will be coming over next year when I get my scooter, and hope to meet you some time, Klaas.
Joe,
Re: Should I be proud?
It depends. How tall are you?
Yes, we Americans probably now lead the world in average weight. I read the part of the article shown on the page you linked. Average 3" taller? That sounds like an awful lot. Who does these studies, anyway?
Maybe it is the cheese!
(the above in reference to cheese advertisements over here California makes more cheese than rival Wisconsin, and among other things the ads say “It’s the cheese.”)
Re: Re: Should I be proud?
According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service report Wisconsin still beats California for 2003. And for the most recent monthly numbers.

Dang, nothing gets by JJuggle! He knows all.
So I think I got my facts skewed. Try milk. I think CA makes more milk than Wisconsin. This was because of a recent news item about a chemical in CA milk; an element of rocket fuel. Yup, we got rocket fuel in our milk! But it doesn’t make us taller…
Librarians rule! But we don’t, by any stretch, know all. We can just find most.

It’s not the cheese, it’s the altitude. They need to be able to keep their heads above water if the sea breaks through.
my family is Dutch in background and were not that tall, a guy i know who is 17 and he’s 7 feet tall, just graduated highschool tonight actually, he is dutch too.
My mom’s a librarian. Comes in handy when I need report help, she just says “How many times have I shown you how to use the catalog?”
Also she payed me very well to move a law library up two stories.
My dad’s Dutch, im half dutch and i have been to Holland a number of times, its really cool.
yes i always thought the dutch were very tall, I thought they already were the tallest…well now they are so thats ok.
I met a whole lot of Dutch people while at the Scouting World Jamboree. They weren’t exactly tall, more lanky than anything.
Yeah, the small people were exiled overseas, we keep the tall ones
If Borges is right, I should grow to about twice my current height. The place where I live is some 3.5 m below average sea level.
Klaas Bil (1.83 m)
If the article is right about the Dutch having a growth rate of 2cm per decade you’ll get there in 835 years. (+/- a couple of decades depending on climate, shoes, tide etc.)
