There’s a paved path that goes from Shoreline Park, in Mountain View,
California, down to Moffet Field. Yesterday some friends of mine went
rollerblading there and I joined them on my uni. I thought it would be social,
but boring riding. But it turns out there’s a parallel trail down the hill next
to the river, surfaced entirely with medium sized rocks. It’s not tricky, but
it’s good practice to ride at full speed on such uneven ground.
Having nontrivial terrain was nice since, of course, I couldn’t keep up with the
rollerbladers. Perhaps with a 26" wheel, but then the rough ground wouldn’t be
as interesting.
