At the risk of overdoing this thread, I’d (independently of this thread)
just got a copy of the collect papers of Shannon. It’s about 6cm thick and
weighs a few kilos.
There is a section on Computers, Circuits and Games, which has such
articles as:
- A chess playing machine
- Claude Shannon’s no-drop juggling diorama (about a juggling robot)
- Scientific aspects of juggling (derives a formula relating number of
balls, hands, air time, hold time etc.)
No articles on unicycling, but the juggling stuff was meant to be (but
wasn’t) published in Scientific American.
