Shakhrier Azizov's Around the World Tour

I just wanted to highlight a rider that I thought some may not have come across yet. At least, he isn’t followed by many mutual unicyclists on Instagram (9 mutuals in my circle).

Anyway, his name is Shakhrier Azizov (I think he goes by Shah). On Instagram his username is @wahrier. He also posts long form content on YouTube.

He’s currently attempting to circumnavigate the globe by unicycle, much like Ed Pratt did a few years ago. He started in Istanbul, Turkey and has now made his way to Armenia. Interestingly, he’s doing it on a 27.5" Nimbus Oracle, which seems a small size for such a big journey IMO.

Anyway, I’m sure he could use the moral support of the unicycling community and perhaps donations, which I see he accepts through Wise and Boosty.

I for one wish him safe travels and I would be happy to join him along the way if all goes to plan.

Judging by the videos he has the right optimistic personality to succeed in his venture around the world, and I wish him the best!
Regarding choice of unicycle - that 27.5 nimbus oracle is my favorite and should be able to cope with anything. One advantage over a 36 wheel is that there is more space between the seat base and the tire, so it is probably better suited for adding luggage.

Yeah, a smaller wheel also makes sense with short cranks, but it seams that his are quite long which is ok if you just accept being slow. As unicyclists i think we’ve all done that already
