Yahoo has a nice service of AddressGuard, where it lets you set up as many different email addresses as you want. So anytime I sign up for anything that I fell might get me spamed, I create a new address for it, and if I end up getting alot of spam I just delete that address. Yahoo also does a good job of sorting into a junk folder, but you still have to check the folder to make sure nothing important got lost. Several times I’ve screwed up half.com or amazon marketplace sales because the email got sorted as junk.
explicit spam lines?
The email thingy that I use (incredimail) lets you block certain works in the subject line and so on.
I would use that.
Having said that, my son is 8 and has not shown any interest in having an email address. I think that when he does (probably around aged 10 or 11) he will know what all those words are anyway and we will have had the talk about when the appropriate time to use them is.
But Podzol - images - yuck. Just what you want when you’re having your breakfast, I don’t think.
Here is the thing about email. It is totally unregulated. Nobody has any say over it. I can create a server and send emails off of it. If it gets banned, I change the IP address or domain name and do it again. Also, addresses are not regulated. I can send an email as anyone. Yes, even you.
No, filters don’t block much, and most kids can get around them. Our schools filters are a joke.
Did you notice the ponies?
On the banner it says “Lisa Frank - Stuff girls love!”
ahahahahahahaha.
Oh man… I need to go to the ponies.
