I think it’s true for anything. But to die from unicycling I’d guess you
were doing something stupid…

JF

I think if you die from something you’re doing you’re doing something
stupid anyway. I read it as to die during unicycling (but /from/
something else).

Used has it’s points but…

When something breaks that I droped $300 on, I wana know it was because of something I did- not metal fatigue or some other legacey of a previous rider. You would also being doing your Karma a favor by causing another Uni to enter the world. Plus, tube replacement is said to be less than fun on the Pash’, 'cus of the bearing holders.

…then again, do you have the money to drop on an air-sadle as well? Ummmmmm, cumffy!

Christopher LeFay

hi,

I am on task with this response. I have an XLW 24", but have never ridden a Pashley. I have only ridden a 20"United as well.
I think I have read in other postings, that the Pashleys run a bit heavy, due to the frame, though I might sure of this. Others can answer this better than I. I don’t know how the Pashleys will do on drops. The XLW will take a one foot drop and depending on your body weight, you could drop from higher. Someone on one of my posts responded once and said they had a similar rim to the one on the XLW, and he dropped it from 2 - 3 feet without problems. Take it for what it is worth. Would current bearings take the drops, I don;t know.

I have only dropped from 10 inches and anything greater will take lots of time.

I really like my XLW, but I can’t compare it to others having only ridden this type of Muni. I weighed it on my bathroom scale and it showed up as 13.5 lbs.

Try calling Unicycle.com and asking to speak with John Drummond and see what he says. John is a real honest guy and would probably give you a good technical answer.

My XLW feels solid and goes over just about anything on the trail.
I run it at 22 psi. I am real happy with it. It is weak on pavement, due to the tire, but offroad, it is in heaven. YOu can only buy it with the puke green seat now. Unicycle.com hasn’t got any of the other colors in and don’t know when any other colors, if at all will ever come in. This assumes seat color is a big concern

Hope this helps. Come on Pashley owners - take the challenge, lets hear from you. I think my XLW will kick your Pashley rear.

Hows that UNi- man- Dan?

I LOVE YOU, i …um , hmmmm, yess…

i remain both witty and clever

The Pashely does not have a heavy frame, it is probably lighter than the
Sem frame, what is heavy is the seat stem, seat and the bearing holders.
Change the seat and stem and I would say the whole unicycle might well
be lighter.

If you are not sure of the strength of the Pashley, have a look at what
Dan Heaton rides in Universe and is doing with it.
