I did it a while ago, so I’m not certain. I think it was a 12" – it would
have been the smallest size you can find at a KMart type store. I
inflaited it slightly, put it in the seat cover, and put the cover on the
seat plate, then finished inflation. The tube lines the perimeter of the
seat, but the cover is rigid enough that you’ve still got enough
cushoning.
