assistance whoops
It took John 12 hours riding his bike to make the round trip to his uncle’s. If he averaged 20 mph out and 30 mph back, how long did he travel each way? (Round answer to nearest tenth.)
I’m getting frustrated and am asking for assistance.
I assume by ‘how long’ you mean how much time was spent traveling each way and that the same route was taken each way.
Let a = time to get to uncle’s, and let b = time to get back
a + b = 12
20a = 30b = one way distance to uncle’s
Now, you solve.
Very succinctly put phlegm, got to love the power of soimulataneous equations.
