Seats

I have a Savage unicycle (ha-ha.) and the seats metal guards dig into my legs
making it impossible to ride for more than an hour. Is there a better seat?

Hey Tim, check out Unicycle.com you’re sure to find a better seat than that
Savage beast that eats legs. My personal favorite is the Miyata seat. If
those arent available, the Semcycle and Viscount will still be a major
improvement for you.

I have the same problem. (Except that the logo on my unicycle said “Summit”, but
it appears to be exactly like the Savage).

I took rubber automotive hoses and covered the metal crash guards awhile back,
which protected the seat better (wimpy vinyl fabric…), but after repeated
drops, the front one is bent back in the middle, which forced the sides outward.
I’ve tried to bend it back a couple of times and it’s not working. Anyway, it
gave me a good bruise on the thigh at least once.

I too long for a new seat, but given that the replacement seats (including the
required seat post) cost half of what I paid for the unicycle, so my thoughts
keep going toward replacing the entire thing. On the other hand, replacing it
would cost twice as much as I paid for it and I’d still have this uncomfortable
relic in the garage… Oh decisions decisions! <g>
