I have been unicycling for about eight or nine weeks now and have just started learning to hop, and i couldnt even hop 3 times with out falling, until today i started to get the hang of it, and after an hour of pratising, I actuall hopped on to a small peice of wood that was about 2 inches high :). The only problem is my viscount seat is kinda falling apart and i want a seat with a better handle, so i saw on unicycle.com the two good seats for hopping, the kris holm seat, and the miyata seat, so now I ask everyone, which seat is better in your opinion?, and what kind of seat do you have?
Mmmm, Velo Kris Holm seat… you know it is the way forward!
It’s the comfiest of the lot, and would appear to have a much stronger handle than any others on the market.
I got through a miyata seat on my trials unicycle in not very long, but my KH seat is still going strong.

I’ve been really happy with my Miyata for hopping but haven’t tried the Velo. I hold the handle on the Miyata at about 45 degrees and I don’t think it’s putting too much pressure on it that way. Until you get a new seat, try replacing those original bolts that hold the bumpers on with slightly bigger ones. I did this and the bumpers are now rock solid.
How light is the Velo? One of the things I like about the Miyata is that it’s nice and light.
I also like seats that are tilted up at the front slightly more than the Viscount.

The Velo KH seat is awsome for jumping, but i cant do a 180 or 360 uni spin on it because it’s too fat. Anyone else having this problem?

'Tis true, it has been mentioned several times that it’s not really a very good freestyle seat because of its bulk. I don’t think this is really where it’s aimed for, though; it’s an excellent seat for normal riding - comfy - and jumping, because of the handle.

the Velo is heavyyyyyyyyyy,i would guess 2.5 pounds

Whats the RSU??
At last a brother in arms.
Rec.Sport.Unicycling which is to be regarded as the ‘main’ forum on this site, intended for unicycling-related posts. It is two-way mirrored to a Usenet newsgroup with the same name as well as to an e-mail distribution list so it reaches the largest audience.
This here (Just Conversation) forum is for, err, well, just conversation. But, as I see it, preferable not unicycling-related, or only in a silly way.

I’ve got a velo and a miyata - The velo came with my kh24 and is waaaaaay more comfortable than the stock miyata, lots more padding and (I think) a more comfortable handle.
However, its big, bulky and hard to ‘move around’ when trying tricks, and thats why I like the miyata - its really light, and I feel like I can just throw it around…but the handle isnt as comfy as the velo.
Maybe a miyata air conversion would be the way to go???(If funds are not an issue)…
That comfy thing is right. I got so used to ryding with my velo, i can’t ryde a normal seat because it’s so uncomfarable.
