My seat post clamp and I had different agendas last night as I was putting my uni back together after the carbon fiber seat conversion.
I have an Odyssey clamp with the allen head through bolt on which the nut side of the through-way had a hex-shaped pocket to keep the nut from turning. Well, the aluminum hex-shaped pocket decided to take a vacation and left a rounded out hole to watch the store while it was gone. Being as the nut was buried in the hole, I couldn’t get to it with any sort of holding tool and had to hack saw the bolt in half. I like the clamp so, in the hex-shaped pocket’s absence, I figured out a way to continue on with business (see attached picture). The coupler nut’s hex wouldn’t fit into the hole so I had to grind it round a bit. Now it works dandy!
