How do I do a screenshot. Like I see people on here have pictures of their internet explorer wiindow on here, how do they do that?
Alt+PrtScn will capture the current active window
PrtScn will capture the entire desktop
Those keys will do a screen capture and put the image in your clipboard as a bitmap. Paste the clipboard contents into a drawing application like Paint. Edit it and save as a JPG to post here.
There are also lots of freeware third party applications that can do screen captures. These applications will generally have a few extra features that can make things easier if you’re doing a lot of screen captures or need to capture specific areas of the screen. Some will also allow you to capture the mouse pointer too. IrfanView is one common app that can do screen captures.
Push the (Prt Scrn) PrintScreen button on your keyboard. It should be located above Insert and Delete and to the right of F12. Then open an image program, such as Paint, and paste it with either Edit>Paste, or Ctrl V.
Random Screenshots
Okay that was pretty random!!! My last screenshot. Thats why I think this thread should be the Gallery of Random Screenshots. Post any screenshot, thats random, funny, or just plain interesting.
We’ve got that picture as our desktop too.
It’s Command-Shift-3 on my Mac.

That lonely unicycle one makes a great desktop…
What if your computer doesnt have a “printscreen” button, then what?
if you have The GIMP, you can click on File > Acquire > Screenshot… and it’ll take a screenshot for you. if you don’t have The GIMP, download it. Photoshop prolly has a similar button in it somewhere.
