i was wondering if there was any way that you could pause a video on the divx player and then copy what is on the screen paste it in to irfan veiw.then print.then i think you could make a sucesson of pictures so it would look like the pics that you can take on those cool cameras that take loads of pics with one press of the button.help? i have tryed a screen dump and that did not work any other way?
Not all video players will let you copy a frame of the video to the clipboard. The DivX player is one of those that does not.
For AVI and MPEG-1 files you can use VirtualDub to capture video frames to the clipboard. Open the file in VirtualDub and move the slider until you are at the frame that you want. Then go Video >> Copy source frame to clipboard
For MOV files use Apple’s QuickTime player. Edit >> Copy
WMV files are more difficult because Windows Media Player won’t let you copy frames. The easiest way I have found is to use TMPGEnc to convert the WMV file to an MPEG-1 and then open the converted file in VirtualDub to copy the frame.
Many of the software DVD players like Power DVD have features to copy video frames to the clipboard or to a file, but these programs are not free.
IrfanView will copy video frames to the clipboard because it, like VirtualDub, is brilliant. Without IrfanView and VirtualDub the world would be a dark, foreboding place…

IrfanView is brilliant. No Windows computer is complete without it.
I had forgotten that IrfanView can capture video frames to the clipboard. And it even works with WMV files. Absolutely brilliant!
thanks phil thanks john
I vote for Irfanview too.
