Schwinn Bearing/Frame Looseness

Hello,

I have a newer 24" Schwinn unicycle. The fork blades are loose on the
bearing causing a bit of rattling on bumps, hops whatever. It is loose
enough that I can visibly wiggle the frame on the bearing.

Anyone know of a fix for this? I considered shimming the hole on the fork
blades with some stainless steel tape, but haven’t tried it yet.

Thanks,

Are there c-clips (not sure what the technical name is) on both sides of
each bearing? Or is the opening in the fork for the bearing too large?

All the clips are in place, the whole in the fork is too large.

I had that problem on one side after I replaced the bearings on my
Schwinn. Here’s a patch that work pretty good for me:

I bought some “Liquid Metal”, which is a two-part epoxy like substance,
and applied thin coating of it around the bearing hole in the fork blade.
Then I pushed the bearing in place, wiped off the excess Liquid Metal, put
on the C clips, and then hung it up to dry. It cured the problem for about
a year, and I ride this uni almost every day. One of these days I’ll get
ambitious and take it apart and do it again.
