School Mascots

The guys in my office love to have a good time with unique school mascot names. So I did a quick search and came up with the following link: http://www3.baylor.edu/~Larry_Frazier/mascot.htm

There is a school not too far from us in Freeport, IL whose mascot is the Pretzels. To an outsider, it’s a target of ridicule, but say something to the face of a Freeporter and you’re likely to get a fist of Pretzel Power. They’re might proud of their mascot.

This one and many others such as the University of California, Santa Cruz Banana Slugs are included on the website listed above. So far I only see American schools listed…

Bruce

A school in the US has the banana slug for a mascot.

Fighting Javelinas … Texas A&M University at Kingsville=> soon to be texas A&I

i’m pretty sure we’re the only school that has a Javelina as a mascot.

Isn’t that UC Santa Cruz, the site of the California Mountain Unicycle Weekend in 1999, 2002 and 2007? Not sure about '07 but in both those earlier events, some of the trails and riding were on the university campus. Banana slugs are common denizens of the trails there…

I knew a podiatrist whose school had as their mascot Paul Bunion.

Guess that’s better than Jimmy Cracked Corn…

I don’t care.
