Quick tangential agreement, same applies to ultimate wheel.
Multiple times I’ve had someone walk up to me and say something along the lines of:
“Did you invent that?! That’s genius. So simple, so compact. It’s the perfect mode of transportation.”
But yeah, again, someone who’s never ridden one. And someone who’s seen me just have a good stretch and didn’t see the countless hours of rough/failed attempts. Any simple elegance is intertwined with not simple at all learning and not elegant at all failure.

What’s a “simple” unicycle? Does that exclude giraffes, stacked wheels, kangaroos, non-centered hubs (eccentrics), novelty (offset cranks, unusual wheels)? Were the first MUnis simple?

Also… most modern munis have brakes, another step away from “simplication”. How many muni riders would be happy to get rid of their brakes. Not many I bet.
