these people need to be killled
f*ck you Fred
these people need to be killled
f*ck you Fred
what, you didn’t know those kinds of people existed?
Yea I did, its just the more and more I see and read, the scaryer it gets, esp. when most of them are lawmakers or powerful people.
hmm, yeah, I guess I see your point. yeah. but they can’t actually enforce any of their personal beliefs unto the public, because all of that is unconstitutional. and even if it wasn’t, the general public has a much mroe open-minded view of things.
there’s a guy where I live who’s notorious for being like that…a few years ago he wrote a pro-slavery book and tried to sell it here, and everyone hates him for the most part… google for “doug wilson moscow idaho” to get some stuff about it. he’s a jerk.
read some other quotes HERE
Those quotes should have been dated, and put in some kind of context. Quotes from Joseph McCarthy have no place being compared to quotes from prominent political figures today.
Don’t get me wrong, I lost my appetite reading through those…
“I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”
What did Churchill know anyway? He was a fag. Don’t even mention Voltaire…
Hoping that sarcasm can be sensed through forums, Dave
Re: Scary…
looky fred thinks you need to be killed too^_^
“Not only is homosexuality a sin, but anyone who supports fags is just as guilty as they are. You are both worthy of death.”
I wonder what they would say about alien impregnation.
Was it a boy alien, Dave?
Whoops! That page invokes Goodwin’s Law by mentioning Hitler as an example in their arguments. They lose the debate.
Huh. Apparently none of the exceptions mentioned in wikipedia apply, so I must defer.
However, the most astounding thing was that many of those were used in a debate over separation of church and state in our debate class. Someone found it, and said “Look at all these quotes!”. they were used to argue against separation of church and state, if I remember correctly.
Goodwin’s Law holds.
Anyone who has to resort to making references to Hitler in order to support their argument is too immature to be arguing about whatever it is they’re arguing about.
well, I didn’t write the site, so I’m fine with that.
However, there are some truly scary quotes there.
Not me, silly. Ask Jethro.
i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again
…what can i say…
Having been to America recently i realised how much sway religious belief had in the politics and life in general.
“yeah. but they can’t actually enforce any of their personal beliefs unto the public, because all of that is unconstitutional. and even if it wasn’t, the general public has a much mroe open-minded view of things”- James potter
Just having a quick look at that list there are 2 presidents and many legislators involved. To say then they can not enforce their own beliefs is a little short sighted. The one thing i’d be more worried about is someone getting into a position of power who manipulates the support of the large religious groups in the US to promote their own whacked out ambitions… oh wait a sec… the Iraq war springs to mind???
Its unfortunate, with our (Australia’s) involvement in Iraq we don’t even have religion to blame.
Mark
I’m not defending anyone on that site, but…were someone to sift through all the things any one of us has said in our life time and print selections out of context, any one of us could be on that list.
it’s not as if they’ve acticely distanced themselves from those stated positions
a quick google on those names and some keywords from those statements seem to indicate that they still hold them
and i’m fascinated to know what kind of context will make some of that Hate-Speech appear ok
I’m signed up to a few mailing rings from people on that site. Jerry Falwell, Rush Limbaugh and some others who aren’t on there. Oh how they make me chuckle (…and sometimes weep).
Like fcwegnm0b said it would be good to have dates for those quotes.
I wonder how many times any of them have left the U.S. They seem utterly oblivious of how real life actually is.
It’s been proven that those who are most homophobic are far more likely to actually have homosexual tendencies…
I came across
this today…It made me chuckle.
And remember:
