Scam warning!

I’m not usually one for posting warnings about potential scams but I had a close miss today.

I walked into B&Q at lunchtime and some old guy dressed in orange asked me if I wanted decking. Fortunately, I got the first punch in and that was the end of that.

Those less suspecting might not be so lucky so please pass this on.

Lol, not bad.

I wouldn’t be surprised though the staff in B&Q often aren’t so good, had a great argument with one before xmas about why for some basic tasks I needed the top-of the line £120 power tool, when the £35 one would do fine.

first punch,litteraly or metaphoricly?

I don’t really get it.

I think this comes down to British slang, the phrase ‘decking’ means either some wooden boards to put outside your house, or punching someone until they fall over.

i’m an american and i caught the hilarious puns.

I get everything but its not funny

AhAGHAHAhaHAHA!!! FANTASTIC!

I tip my cap to you, sir.

i dont think i get it fully…like i see the puns…but how would that have been a scam? or was that just to get our attention?

That is good advice. Too many people get taken by scams like that.

Another one to watch out for is fake contractors who come by with a partial dumptruck load of blacktop asking if you want a paving.

It is a scam and you should take aggressive action to protect yourself.

'tis good to have you back Mr BoogieJuice.

that was actually very funny.

hahahahaha

I get it and am mildly amused, but I also find myself disapointed by the misleading content of the thread.

I don’t usually think jokes are very funny, but I liked this one. It made me chuckle out loud. Thanks.

Hah, I like this. Awesome joke mate.

Obviously you haven’t heard the right jokes, eh?

Mike

Heh, that was quite amusing.
