does anney one sail or go out on fishing boats?? just woudering
I wind-surf a bit…
I used to sail a lot more than I do now.
At one point we had two catamarans (16’ & 18’) and a trimaran (53’).
The 16’ was stolen off the beach in Hollywood (FL), I don’t remember what happened to the 18’, but I know we sold Tri-Dive to someone in Boca Raton.
I go fishing once in a while (Stuart, the next town north of me, is the “Sailfish capital of the world”) but rarely from a boat. I’d rather wakeboard or skurf behind a boat than fish.
But I do LOVE eating fish.
I think Carson, was like building his own boat out of old bottles, and sometime in my life I hope to build my own Tom Sawyer Raft and float around places. Maybe use it as a dock to like swim in the river or something but I saw a snake in there once so that would be pretty scary.
o ya thats kool me and my dad are wana be fisher men so wh alyes hang out ta the warf and we alyes help out the furst day of lobstring and dad tacks time off worck to harin fish in the fall I can trulley say that the sea is in my blud

i live in a split sailing familly, my dad was part of the Australian (A)america’s cup Syndicate and is really into it, but then we moved to Tasmania and he sails causully on the weekend.
i sail when i can, i learnt in a P-class and then graduated to a sabot before moving to an hobie 18 or somthing to that effect. alas it is too expensive and i have no longer a vessel.
thatas wicked
Nice… what type of boat is that? Is it a two-person?
I live in a town on the ocean, and I sail as much as possible. I have a 26’ full keel sailboat, goes about 7, maybe 7.5 knots in heavy wind. I taught sailing for a summer and had a great time. Sailing is just amazingly fun. If you’ve never done it and get a chance to, DO IT!!! You wont regret it.
me too
and if you cant spell, then how come you can spell your signature…
That is sweet, have you ecer tried one of the moth skiff’s with the hydro foils?
they were my goal before i started unicycling.
Pic about here
U-Turn - It’s called a Cherub. That’s an Australian one. The U.K. also have a cherub class but the design of the boat is slightly different. It’s a 2 person boat. I’m hanging out on the trapeze wire behind the sails.
Tobbogonist - I’ve never tried one but i’ve seen videos of them in action. They look like alot of fun but they’re a really competitive class and expensive to get into. I heard a story of someone that tried putting foils on a cherub and the pressure from the one on the rudder ripped the back of the boat off. They’re banned in the class rules now.
Siege
I have a trinka 12, i havent gotten out on it in a while but its really fun to sail. I went to the offshore sailing school where i got to sail a 9 foot hunter and a 25 ft hunter really fun
Yes i have sailed a cherub a few times, they were good fun untill we crashed it on the rocks yeah moths are extremely expensive and there is hardly any class rules what so ever.
a foiling cherub, lol that would be sweat. imagine being up foiling when the boat lost its end. We nosed dived the cat a few weeks ago, i was in the same position you are in the cherub, went flying did i.
