My NZ unicycling friends have recategorised me from nuts to insane which
probably means its about time I got some protective gear.
What’s the most important things to get? Currently I’m doing 32" drops and the
like. This will increase as soon as my custom Muni is finished (so the unicycle
can handle it) and I’ve got some protective gear (in case things go wrong).
Also how do you jump/hop onto objects higher than 20" ?

I wish I had a Uni that could withstand 32" drops let alone bigger. I’ve done
some drops over 3 feet without breaking my miyata hub but I never do em
regularly cause I know it won’t take it. I love doing drops though, its
addictive!!
I’ve generally heard that most people prefer Roach body armor, (elbos/arms and
knees/calves). I have never been happy with other brands I’ve tried and I will
soon get myself the roach gear as soon as I want to fork out the cash for em, a
bit pricey!

If your not pulling the seat out, you can do this during a hop to help you pull
the uni higher in front of you. And you can jump up and catch a pedal or crank
at your maximum height, and then jump from hanging off your crank up to the tire
onto the high object. I have recently been practising this and have made it onto
a picnic table top a couple of times. (nevermind the 2 or 3 thousand attempts
though! hehe)
