Hi.
What angles are people setting on their Thompson seat post/Wilder Bracket
setup? Is there much variation in angle preference? I’ve always been
riding with the old school 90 degree fixed angle seat post but am curious.

Re: Saddle Tilt/Angle
I think it’s 12 degrees up in front on mine. Maybe slightly less on the
Coker. Or maybe it’s 16 on the Muni and 12 on the Coker? Will try to look
tonight and email you.

Mine’s about 15 degrees up in front but varies, and I’m not sure that it won’t increase. I’m always having to push the seat forward. But I need to mess around with the air tubes before any more changes to the angle. This setup is on a Pashley MUni with a reamed-out and shortened frame, using a Reeder handle.
The angle measurement on the Thomson post is not that meaningful for other seats other than the one that it is currently attached to. Everyone mounts their Wilder bracket in slightly different locations on the seat base which affects the angle shown on the Thomson post. I have my Wilder bracket mounted about 2 cm back from the default location as on the plastic Miyata seat base. Moving the Wilder bracket further back will slacken the angle shown on the Thomson post.
On my setup I have the angle on the Thomson seatpost is set at about 6 degrees. The rear part of the seatbase is at about a 10 degree angle. It’s too hard to measure the angle for the nose of the seat because it’s a curved surface. The back is flatter and easier to get an approximate angle measurement.
I’d agree with you John, but that the rails are so short. At least with the Thomson seatpost, there is very little fore-and-aft adjustment with the Wilder rails, at least the version that I have.
It’s not the length of the rails, but where you drill the holes in the seat base. If you drill the holes a little farther back, the Wilder bracket will be positioned farther back where there is less angle and curve in the seat base.
Ah I see what you mean. unicycle.com attached mine and I haven’t examined that aspect of it very closely.
