I currently have a KH free ride air saddle with a t7. I was wondering if the fusion free ride saddle needs a different seat post? I have been watching some of the saddle recommendations and it seems like I am not the only one that is not totally satisfied with the way the air saddle holds it shape. So… will I need a different seat post to change saddles? Thanks for the help.
if you have a T7, a fusion freeride will mount right up to it. I have that setup on my 29er.
Isn’t the fusion freeride air saddle just a fusion freeride with an air bladder in it? Can’t you just take out (or deflate???) the bladder?
Never seen one up close, but that’s the impression I’ve had looking online. I do have a couple fusion freerides and know it intimately.
Yes you can, I’ve never seen one myself so I don’t know if the foam is different on them or not. To the Original Poster: It might be worth a try to open it up and look inside. You might could simply take the air tube out, or otherwise modify it to your liking, before buying a new seat.
Regardless, all KH seats fit the same seatpost bracket, which is pretty much the standard for most seats/posts.
I have a KH air
There is no foam in it, and the KH foam is not available separately. I duct tape my tubes, and tape closed cell foam over that. Do a good job, and you won’t need to do it again for near 1000 miles.
I only recommend the air seat to those willing to fuss and tape it. It’s not so hard to play with. The draw string cover goes on and off in seconds.
The free ride is an excellent seat, and should be the first choice, if you are not a tinker.
From taking mine apart and seeing youtube tutorials on modifing seats, I would say no they are not the same. All mine is, is basically the tubes inflated to the pressure you want.
i got a KH fusion freeride saddle on my T7,it’s really confortable.
Ah, well then, never mind
