runners!!!

all of you runner out there, i was wondering how good of runners us unicyclis are. so if everyone could post there age, distance and time.
i will start

Age: 14
Distance:3k
time: 10:53

Distance: 5k
time:19:58
that time was when i was 13

Distance:1500m
time:4:49
i was 13 for that one too

distance: 800m
time:2:20
i was 13 for this one too

and that is all that i can remember so please post!!

Not many runners here?

I don’t run, but if I did, I think I would prefer to sprint. I can run surprisingly fast for a big, heavy guy. It feels good to put the pedal to the metal.

Do people sprint for fitness?

i recently did 10ks in 100 minutes

At lunch sometimes i go for a slow jog.
I am 22 and go 4ks, takes about 25mins i think.

I just ran the “bridge to brisbane” last sunday.

Age: 19
Distance: 10km
Time: 49:16

My best 10k time before the race was 58min, so I’m pretty happy with that time.

My goal is to run a marathon.

Longest distance to date: 33.8km
Time: 4:38

That one hurt a bit :stuck_out_tongue:

This is the only recent time I have.

Age: 32
Distance: 5km
Time: “He ran it in 23:54, and you where here maybe a minute before him”.

I’ve been running quite a bit these days so I’ll join in

Age: 24

Distance: 2.5km
Time: 12:20

Distance: 9.3km (it was meant to be a 10km run but the people screwed up)
Time: 55min

Distance: 21km
Time: 2:23:00

I’m 35.
I’ve ran about 100 races of 10k - 56k over the last 10 years.
Since beginning of this year, I took up joggling (Running while juggling 3 ball cascade), and did about 6 x 21.1k’s.

My best time is 2:04.36 for joggling a half marathon.

I took up unicycling as cross training about a month ago.

See www.justyouraveragejoggler.com for a very nice blog about an ultra marathon joggler, who also unicycles.

im fifteen but when i was fourteen i ran a 5k in 19:36. we have time trials this saturday.

I remember reading a way to loose quite a bit of fat from doing sections of sprints.

Im sure a google search will bring up similar fat-burning workouts.

I can sprint pretty fast and then I go on runs for 1-2 hours occasionally. I donno how far I go though.

I don’t bother to do track, no way I’m paying to run.

your not the one paying it your parents and people that do track get props at school ( atleast in my school). and track is really fun. and it is the same as saying that i dont want to play foot ball so i can work my butt off for the entire season and only play 1/4 of each game…?

Ok, lets put it this way. I’m not draining the money my parents worked for so I can run against people in a school outfit. And no it’s not the same as your analogy.

Besides, I don’t think they have 2 hour distance runs.

Sorry if I sound whiny, I’m tired. Basically, I just think competition running is kinda lame :o

I’ve never done a strictly running road race. But I like to run. I’m doing a marathon on March 1st, that will be my first road race.
I have done a 10k as part of a triathlon and my time then was 56 minutes. But now I can do it in 49 minutes. I did 5.6km today in the pouring rain in 25 minutes. It’s a ton of fun to rain in the pouring rain.

I’d bet.

Mark Lavis age:20

8km- 32min

30km- 3hr 3min (navigational + XC terrain)

67km- 8hr 45min (navigational + XC terrain)

Those are my only recorded times- have done a bunch of mid 20-30km training runs without timing it (prefer to not wear a watch while running long distance)

thread revival. better than starting a new thread.

Reed Breuer:
1 mile: 5:32(aiming for 5minutes)
3 miles: 18:50(aiming for 18minutes)
6 miles: 42:47(aiming for 40minutes)
8 miles: 1:05:??(soon to be improved)
10 miles: TBD
13.1 miles: TBD
26.2 miles: TBD

my marathon will be next summer, i hope. i may do a few half marathons before that, starting this winter i hope.

I ran a marathon in October.
I went through the half in 1:33.
At mile 19 I was still on 7:15 pace, thats a 3:10 marathon pace.
Then my last 6 miles were approx 9 min miles and I ended in 3:22:51.
I spent the last 3 miles committed to beating a guy dressed as a monkey or else I probably would have finished somewhere closer to 3:30.

5km - 18:32 (on a treadmill)
10km - 40:53
Marathon (26.1 miles) - 3:50:34

I started running quite a bit in April this year that peaked at my marathon in October. Weather hasn’t been favourable since then and I’m busy with uni work.

Edit: Habbywall - “spent the last 3 miles committed to beating a guy dressed as a monkey” that made me smile and I can totally sympathise with you!

yeah i guess i would feel kinda stupid if i got beat by a monkey. but what happened to your 7:15 pace? maybe you didnt train enough, or did you just start too fast?

and edit: today i lowered my 8 miles time to 1:00:10
