In anticipation of St. Valentine’s Day, I thought I would get this thread going.
Most of us who unicycle passionately have experienced some tension in our relationships due to our hobby. Others have not. What guidelines can we give our sweethearts to help them cope mroe effectively with our other significant pasttime?
Here are some rules I suggest:
-
You must try to learn once at least, for 20 minutes even if you don’t really want to.
-
Never call it a bicycle, a thingy, “that,” or a one wheeled bike.
-
No “deet deet diddle diddle” in the bedroom. EVER.
-
Take the damage and dirt the mUni does to your sedan’s back seat with a sense of pride.
-
When you tell your parents you are dating a unicyclist (and please do), tell them like it’s a good thing like a badge of honor, not like a drug habit or a disability.
-
Posing scantily clad with your unicycle is a part of your approach to life and you will not change for anyone.
-
If you are feeling needy, stay clear of unicycle club.
-
If you are feeling needy, buy and give unicycle accessories and parts.
-
Have sympathy when important family duties keep the unicyclist away from the unicycle.
-
Don’t expect them to name their unicycle after your mother.
