On the weekend I took part in the RTA Cycle Sydney. This is a 50km or
20km cycle from North Sydney to Paramatta (western Sydney). I have done
the 50km’s last year on a bike, and this year as I had the Coker I did it
on that instead.
For those of you who read my post on the Sydney to Gong’ you know that I
had problems with going a bit numb in a few places. I found that it was
caused by the air saddle being too soft. I was riding with it harder so I
didn’t go as numb but I still had to take regular breaks (about every
10kms or so) to relieve the pressure.
I didn’t have as much luck staying on the Uni and I had countless UPD’s,
it didn’t help that I was having a real problem free mounting and I was
sometimes taking up to 3 or 4 goes to get back on after a break, UPD or
at a set of traffic lights.
All in all it was great fun and as I approached the finish line I was
getting cheered on by a group of riders who had already finished. This is
a definite must for next year again.
