You’ll need to find the manual to your router. Most home routers these days have built-in websites (usually at http://192.168.0.1/ or http://192.168.1.1/) that allow you to change the router’s settings.
Once you find the router configuration page, go to the “wireless” tab and you should find a box that’ll let you select the channel.
Good luck!
P.S. If you’re really stuck, we’ll need to know the model number of the router. Look on the router for stickers, labels, etc for a number and share it with us…
The website (resident on the router) of which Jason speaks may require a username and password. Are you the one who originally set up the router? If so, you may have recorded these in the manual somewhere when you were asked to change them. The manual should also have a default username and password in the setup instructions that you may not have changed.
Does the Wii require a specific, fixed channel? Can’t you change the channel on the Wii?
The DLink product page is here. Find your model number on the list and click it. It gives you an option to download the manual. The sample wireless g model that I looked at had an ip address of 192.168.0.50 which I found odd. It had a default username <admin> and the default password was to leave the field blank. They’re probably all like this. The AirLink I have has a default username and password both set to <admin>.
Even better. This has all the default IP addresses as well as the username and password for each product. Cool. I think I’ll post to this a couple more times. I like DLink…they provide lots of info.
