rola bola/bongo board

Anyone use one? I’ve been thinking about getting one to goof off one but I didn’t know if they had much entertainment value (especially if you already have uni-balance).

I actually made myself one. Saved at least $50 or more doing so. There are instructions available on the web.

I think unless you’re going to juggle or something similar on it (perhaps try for Level 11), it will become boring fairly quickly. But in combination with other circus skills, they are quite a lot of fun.

my friend has one. i use it when i am at this house. it is really easy on carpet. he made his in wood shop at school. i assume you mean this thing:

yes, idling on one could be fun, using one on top of another is fun, one on its own is frankly way to easy. A plank and a short section of 6" water main will do the job.

Jethro might be able to come up with some of that.

actually, you reminded me of my friend when you said that. My friend can do this crazy (in my opinion crazy) trick. He will lay down a skateboard on the ground, and then go back about 20 feet or so, get on another skateboard, ride towards the skateboard laying on the ground (rightside up), and ollies onto it, and rides it like that.

its cool to see.

They are fun if you make one big enough to do tricks on. 180’s, jumps, using your hands, etc. It’s generally performance tool, though. They’re fun to stack as well.

this look kinda cool

Oooooh, bonus points for insanely funny.

Thank you.

I have one. It’s one similar to the Dube model, although not an actual Dube. Probably cost close to $50, which I suspect is about $40 more than it cost to make. I received it as a gift, so not arguing either way. The quality is excellent.

They’re fun to juggle on, but I use mine primarily to avoid couch-potatoing. Instead of lying down or sitting on my butt to watch TV, I’ll watch it standing on the rola bola. The hour of micro-adjustments to stay balanced gives my legs and core a light workout, and helps compensate for the otherwise slothly act of watching television.
