I don’t know anything about the Ramones pretty much, but considering John Frusciante was at his bedside, according to the article, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed at a tribute concert for the Ramones, I’ma take an interest in them.
they were like ABBA if u were into pop music
and, interestingly enough, in the episode of the US sitcom ‘Like Family’ the white kid (keith?) wore a Ramones shirt
i open my email this morning and Celebritydeathbeeper tells me Johnny’s dead
coincidence?
no, bad sitcoms are evil
bring back frasier, sex and the city and mad about you
I never saw the Ramones at CBGB (although I could have!) I did see them several times at other venues in and around NYC between 1978 and 1984.
Everytime, they were great! Man, I still can’t believe that Joey and Dee Dee and now Johnny are now pushing up daiseys.
Anyone who is not familiar with them should check out any of their first five or six LPs (LPs? I should say CDs! I have all these records on vinyl, that’s how old I am!)
Personal favorites–Rocket to Russia, and Road to Ruin.
Lets hope the pinheads are having a great time, sniffing glue (or carbona, not glue) up there in the great big Rockaway Beach in the sky…
Punk, Punk, Punk Rocker!!! --yea…

Saw them at the London roundhouse supporting Talking Heads in the late 70s. Awesome and class.
