This is something I’ve done with friends, to see if )they can push me off
the unicycle. They usually start off way to gentle, but )few can get me
down unless they really get drastic.

Actually I nearly stayed up as it was–it was just so unexpected that I
wasn’t prepared to react. I was riding in a bike lane and this kid was
running across the street in a crosswalk; I thought that we were just
coincidentally on a collision course, so I slowed down to let him by. I
couldn’t believe it when he actually ran into me.

Next time I’ll see if swinging my elbow will help me stay balanced. -Tom

An old boy intentionally pushed me off my 20" a few years ago. When I
asked why, he simply said that I shouldn’t have been on the pavement (US -
sidewalk). I then compared myself to a jogger, pointing out that my speed
was similar, I was more manoeuvrable and I didn’t look as silly. He agreed
and apologised.

Aim it at the solar plexus. Even if you fall down it will be worth it.

Now the hard part; being able to tell if the person is trying to
run into you!

In my juggling club we’re big into random acts of violence and
stupidity. One of our favourite is running at a unicyclist and trying to
push them off. (Funny how we don’t get many new members  Typically
you’ll only knock someone over if you push them really hard from the
side and they have no reaction time. Otherwise it’s a relatively simply
matter to spin around and just cycle in the direction you were pushed
(to conserve momentum)
