How hard is it to make a rim? What tools are needed? Has anyone done it?
Are you wanting to actually build the rim, or are you just wanting to build the wheel (putting spokes in and the hub) ?
build the rim.
It is very difficult, in fact it is much too difficult for you to run around these forums saying you can build one, so don’t even start.

People have made their own rims, but it is very difficult, one would have to be a master at wheelbuolding and welding to do so…
To make a bigr rim out of two would be alot easier however.
