Well after years of riding an old 20 inch Schwinn that I was at least the 3rd owner of, UPS dropped of a brand new 29er yesterday.
Holy Cow what a difference!! It took me a few tries to get the free mount down, then I took it down the rail trail for about 2 miles to get acquainted and as a shake down cruise.
Now that I have a much more capable uni I guess I will have to start pushing myself again and see what new stuff I can learn!!
I have a KH 29er and a Nimbus 29er on the way for a spare and for my buddy to ride when he is visiting! (Yes I conned my old riding partner into riding regularly again and we are having a blast!!)
We have both been riding since the early mid 1980’s, but have been busy with life and got to where we have only been riding a couple times a year. The old unis we grew up on would not come close to taking the beating that these new ones now do so we both have lots to catch up besides knocking off the rust that has snuck up on our skill set.
Both of us use to ride to school every day on our unis all during high school and I would ride to work after school. It got so that we could go most places we cared to, but nothing like what I see some of you nuts pulling off!!!
I suppose in our defense there is no way our unis would take much more than what we dealt them, but it does leave us behind the curve so to speak!!
Thanks for the warm welcome and keep the rubber side down!!!
