riding backwards?

im trying to learn to ride backwards. makin progress, but any tips would be appreciated. helpful tips only please. dont just tell me to practice. cuz i will slap you. muchas gracias!

You already know the best tip, even if you don’t want to hear it. It’s true is the problem.

The most common tip given is to pick spot about 20 ft in front of you and keep your eyes on that spot as you pedal backwards. As you ride away from that spot, pick a new spot.

You don’t say how far you are riding but if it’s still at one rev or two of the wheel, you might try usisng a shopping cart to get used to the feel of riding backwards and pedaling steadily, etc.

if you can idle, just do extended idles(one revolution back, then forward). then keep adding more revolutions as you progress. i dont recommend learning woth a wall, it is best do start with an idle

Unfortunately practice is what it takes… Took me months, and I spend a lot of time in the saddle!

Definitely listen to reed’s advice. It’s the best way to learn, even if it takes longer.
