When I was about 6 years old, so it would be 1966, I remember looking down the street in Elgin, Oregon and saw some kid riding away from me on a unicycle. I’m guessing the kid was about 8-10 years old. That image stuck in my mind until 40 years later (2006) I learned to ride!
Any idea who this person was? I never saw him again so I’m guessing he was visiting, something like that in a small town doesn’t go unnoticed. 
On a similar note I was recently in Tyndall, SD visiting my daughter and her family. Tyndall is the same size as Elgin and even more desolate so the irony here is not lost on me. Just for some excersize I rode my daughter’s unicycle around the block one afternoon and this kid flags me down, runs inside, and returns with a cheapo unicycle he has never learned to ride! I showed him and his younger brother a few tips on how to learn and they were very excited. Funny how things often come full circle.
