Review...Dianese shin guards

I just had a bad experience with my shin guards, and now am in the market for a new set.

I have the hard shell Dianese shin/knee guards that are grey, with two velcro straps to go around back.

I didn’t mind the fact that there was no back protection…scrapes, but not too hot. However, in an attempt to curb jump (and a flying away uni) my leg landed on the curb, and when I looked down there was no scratch on my pads, but there was blood coming from underneath.

In my wipeout, the pad slid over, revealing bare skin, allowed for a horrendous pedal smash, then slid back into place, looking like they did their job.

I will never buy these pads again. The purpose is totally defeated. If there was a third velcr band closer to the bottom, it wouldn’t be as much of a poblem, I think.

Roach, here I come!

If you get Roach make sure that they are long enough. If the shin pads are too short the pads can slide down your leg in a crash and expose your knee. You want the pads to be long enough so they can rest on the top of your shoe without exposing the knee. If you have long legs you may need to get a custom size from Roach.
